Scalable
Both our platform technologies are eminently scalable to industrial scale.
Electrospinning is routinely used in the industry for high volume applications such as air or water filtration. Our partner, El Marco manufacture large industrial electrospinning machines, with proven capability of industrial scale production of non-woven materials, such as sheets of mats for large scale patch production.
Over the last 10 years, we have demonstrated the feasibility of the industrial production of smart particles products by building from the ground up and operating a manufacturing plant for micro-encapsulated corrosion inhibitors with a 50 Metric ton yearly capacity. In fact, as part of designing a new process, we always take into account its final manufacturing scale and production costs.
Tailored Solutions
Our proprietary patch technology enables us to encapsulate a wide range of therapeutics and deliver them with exceptional efficiency without any wastage. This is achieved by the unique combination of electrospinning and biodegradable polymers, resulting in significant increase in the bioavailability of therapeutics.
Our patented silica encapsulation technology is based on two very versatile chemistries: sol-gel and emulsion polymerisation. By precisely understanding the influence of the different chemical parameters, we can tailor every module of the encapsulation process. This allows very precise and independent control of the average particle size, from 0.1-100 microns, as well as the release rates, from hours to months. Importantly, we can customise our process to encapsulate a wide range of small and large molecules and efficiently protect them until delivery. Overall, we have the crucial tools to provide unique and innovative solutions to our customers .
